Welcome to our Safety Guidelines
Safety is the first priority at UAE Buggy Tour. Our desert buggy experiences are operated with trained guides and marshals, mandatory safety briefings, and protective equipment appropriate to the activity.
Please read these requirements before your 2027 desert buggy experience. Participation is subject to the applicable package requirements, staff instructions, and safe operating conditions.
Introduction
UAE Buggy Tour operates desert experiences in an off-road environment where sand, uneven terrain, heat, dust, and changing conditions require guests to follow professional guidance at all times.
Every participant must comply with the safety briefing and the instructions of guides and convoy marshals. Guests who cannot meet the applicable safety requirements may be refused participation.
Protective Gear & Attire
Mandatory Protective Equipment
- • Full-Face Helmets & Goggles: Approved helmets and protective eyewear must be worn by drivers and passengers whenever required by the activity team.
- • Footwear: Closed-toe athletic shoes or suitable boots are required. Sandals, flip-flops, and other open footwear are not permitted for self-drive buggy activities.
- • Seat Belts & Harnesses: All fitted seat belts or multi-point harnesses must remain securely fastened whenever the vehicle is moving.
Age & Health Eligibility
Eligibility Requirements
- • Minimum Driver Age: Drivers must meet the minimum age specified for the selected package. Unless stated otherwise, self-drive buggy drivers must be 18 or older and carry valid identification.
- • Passenger Age: Passenger age limits vary by vehicle and package. Children may participate only where the selected package permits their age group and the responsible adult accepts the applicable safety requirements.
- • Health Conditions: The activity may not be suitable for pregnant guests or people with certain heart, back, spinal, mobility, or other conditions that may be aggravated by off-road driving. Guests should seek appropriate medical advice where relevant.
Safety Briefing
A safety and vehicle briefing is provided before the activity. Participants must listen carefully, understand the controls and convoy procedures, and ask the marshal for clarification before departure if anything is unclear.
Failure to attend or follow the briefing may result in the guest being unable to participate.
Convoy & Driving Rules
Drivers must remain within the designated route and follow the lead marshal. Safe following distances may be adjusted by the marshal according to terrain and visibility; drivers must never tailgate another vehicle.
Overtaking, drifting away from the convoy, reckless manoeuvres, racing, or deliberate actions that place people or vehicles at risk are prohibited.
Drivers must slow down when instructed and stop immediately when directed by a marshal.
Core Rules
- •Follow the lead marshal and stay on the designated route.
- •Maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.
- •Never overtake unless specifically instructed by the marshal.
- •Do not drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- •Report collisions, damage, unusual vehicle behaviour, or injuries immediately.
Vehicle Controls
Before departure, marshals explain the relevant vehicle controls, including accelerator, brake, steering, gear selection, and any vehicle-specific safety systems.
Drivers must keep both hands and feet appropriately positioned for safe control and must not attempt repairs or adjustments while the vehicle is moving.
Passenger Rules
Passengers must remain seated, keep required restraints fastened, and follow the driver's and marshal's instructions throughout the experience.
Passengers must not stand up, lean excessively outside the vehicle, interfere with vehicle controls, or attempt to exit while the vehicle is moving.
Emergency Procedures
If a vehicle becomes stuck, damaged, or involved in an incident, remain calm and follow the marshal's instructions. Do not leave the designated area unless instructed.
Support and recovery arrangements may be used when required. Any injury or safety concern should be reported immediately so the operations team can coordinate appropriate assistance.
Weather & Operating Conditions
Desert conditions can change quickly. Extreme heat, poor visibility, sandstorms, heavy rain, or other unsafe conditions may require a route, timing, or activity to be changed, delayed, rescheduled, or cancelled.
Safety decisions made by the operating team or convoy marshal are final for the affected activity.
